Pre-requisites: none.
This module aims to provide you with a foundational understanding of what safeguarding means and equip you with knowledge and skills in knowing what, when and how to report safeguarding concerns.
By the end of this course, you will:
- Be able to understand what safeguarding means.
- Be able to recognise the signs and indicators of abuse in children and adults.
- Be able to respond to safeguarding concerns.
- Be able to record your concerns.
- Be able to identify where to get advice, support and help (refer).
The module will guide you through these four aspects of recognise, respond, record and refer. We will think about the types of abuse and how often abuse occurs.
This module will not equip you to be an expert in safeguarding but to understand the basics, how you can play your part and what your organisation should have in place. You will identify during the course where to get more help and expertise from.
